JMM Intensifies Campaign in Assam with Top Leaders

The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has stepped up its campaign in Assam, deploying senior leaders in a strong push to expand beyond its Jharkhand base.

Jharkhand ministers Chamra Linda and Deepak Birua are leading the effort, holding strategy meetings and focusing on booth-level mobilisation across Upper Assam constituencies.

The party is contesting 18 seats and aims to win at least five, positioning itself as a voice for deprived communities. Support from Adivasi leader Deben Urang is expected to strengthen its outreach among key voter groups.

Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is likely to join the campaign soon, adding momentum. Notably, JMM is contesting independently in Assam despite being part of the INDIA bloc alliance in Jharkhand.
