Kamakhya Temple Tourism Gets Boost with New Developments

Assam Tourism Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass prioritized Kamakhya Temple’s tourism development, inspired by the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor. Plans include expanding the temple area from 3,000 to 100,000 square feet, widening corridors, and restoring six Nilachal temples. A new ropeway connecting Kamakhya railway station to the temple will reduce travel time by up to 60% and accommodate 1,000 passengers per hour. The project, enhancing tourism and convenience, is set for completion by June 2026.
