Kamrup Metro Schools Ordered to Conduct Daily Bag Checks
Following recent violent incidents in Darrang and Jorhat districts, the District Elementary Education Officer has directed all schools in Kamrup Metro to inspect students’ bags and pockets daily. This applies to all government, provincialized, and private schools in the district.
The checks aim to prevent students from carrying arms, sharp objects, toxic substances, or other objectionable items. The directive comes after a Class 9 student lost his life in a confrontation with Class 10 students in Darrang, and a Class 11 student was brutally attacked in Jorhat.
Schools have been instructed to take this matter seriously and adhere to the daily checks without fail. The move aims to ensure student safety and prevent similar incidents in the future.
