Kamrup Schools Issue Guidelines to Combat Heatwave

In response to Guwahati’s soaring temperatures, the Kamrup Metro District Education Office has issued guidelines for schools, effective from September 21. Schools must start at 7:30 AM and finish by 12:30 PM. Morning assemblies will be held indoors, and students are advised to avoid wearing waistcoats or ties.

Schools must ensure students stay hydrated, with sufficient drinking water available. Fans should be functional, classrooms well-ventilated, and alternate power backups arranged. These measures aim to protect students from the heatwave.
