Kaziranga National Park Achieves Record Revenue and Conservation Milestones in 2024

Kaziranga National Park and Tiger Reserve recorded ₹5.7 crore in revenue within three months of reopening in October 2024, a significant jump from ₹3 crore in the same period of 2023. Tourist arrivals surged to 2.2 lakh, including 7,500 international visitors.

DFO Arun Vignesh highlighted Kohora and Bagori as the most popular ranges, with Burapahar seeing tiger sightings. Conservation efforts led to reduced rhino poaching, with only two incidents reported and 24 poachers arrested. Enhanced security included new staff, constables, and commando units.

Community initiatives featured eco-shops and skill development programs for safari supervisors. Future plans include a waterfowl census and tiger monitoring through camera traps in 2025.
