Kaziranga Ranks 3rd Globally in Tiger Density

Kaziranga National Park now ranks third worldwide in tiger density, with 18 tigers per 100 sq km, officials said. The 2024 report recorded 148 adult tigers, up from 104 in 2022. Growth is attributed to habitat expansion, anti-encroachment efforts, and tech-based monitoring. Tools like drones, camera traps, and “Electronic Eye” have enhanced surveillance. Officials stressed continued conservation and community involvement.
