Kaziranga Releases First Grassland Bird Survey Report
Kaziranga National Park has released its first Grassland Bird Survey Report, documenting 43 grassland bird species, including one Critically Endangered and two Endangered ones.
The survey, conducted across three wildlife divisions, focused on 10 key species like the Bengal Florican and Finn’s Weaver. A breeding colony of the endangered Finn’s Weaver was discovered in the Kohora Range, highlighting the need for targeted habitat protection.
The report was launched by Assam Environment Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary and MP Kamakhaya Prasad Tasa.
