Kharge Predicts Congress Alliance Win in Assam, Targets CM Sarma

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday claimed that the Congress-led alliance will form the next government in Assam, projecting a win of around 72–73 seats in the 126-member Assembly.
Addressing a press meet, Kharge launched a sharp attack on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, calling him “corrupt” and accusing his government of running syndicates across multiple sectors. He also sought responses from Narendra Modi and Mohan Bhagwat over the allegations.
On the controversy involving Pawan Khera’s claims about Sarma’s wife, Kharge said central agencies should investigate, adding that Congress will face the case legally.
He further criticised the BJP leadership and defended Rahul Gandhi, asserting that Congress has played a key role in maintaining national unity.
