Koch-Rajbongshi Groups Hold Massive Rally in Kokrajhar

Thousands of Koch-Rajbongshi people joined a major protest rally in Kokrajhar, organised by AKRASU and allied groups, demanding a peace accord with KLO, creation of Kamatapur state, and ST status for the community. Led by AKRASU president Dipen Roy, the rally marched four kilometres through the town with slogans like “No ST, no rest.”

Leaders warned that if ST status is not granted before the 2026 Assembly elections, the BJP will face consequences and be barred from Koch-Rajbongshi areas. Multiple community organisations participated in the demonstration.
