Land Allotment and Youth Employment Top Priorities for New BTC

The newly formed Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), led by Hagrama Mahilary, will prioritise providing land to deserving landless families and creating self-employment opportunities for youths, EM Derhasat Basumatary said. Improving Bodo-medium schools, addressing shortages of teachers and doctors, and strengthening health services in malaria- and TB-prone areas are also key focus areas. Basumatary added that the BPF’s role in the NDA is still undecided, though one BPF MLA has joined the State Cabinet. The BTC is awaiting BJP’s decision on nominating a member as an Executive Member.
