Luxury Car Torched Near NH-37 in Golaghat; Tea Officer Injured While Dousing Flames

A Tata Tigor XT belonging to Tea-Garden Welfare Officer Jyoti Prakash Kumir was set ablaze late Monday near NH-37 in Badulipar, Golaghat. The car, parked in his private garage, caught fire during a nearby Golden Jubilee event. A woman alerted him after spotting flames. Locals helped control the fire, but the car was severely damaged. Kumir sustained hand burns. Officials urged police action, citing unchecked liquor sales and rising roadside crime.
