Major Evictions Planned in Negheribill and Dakshin Nambor

Golaghat district administration will evict 205 families from 300 bighas in Negheribill on August 8. Panic has led 80% of residents to leave. Around 40 families got a brief High Court stay. Separately, 400 homes were demolished in Dakshin Nambor’s Gelajan and Rajapukhuri, displacing hundreds. Many evicted families, including long-time settlers and political figures, expressed distress. Security remains tight to prevent unrest.
