Man Held with Leopard Skins in Sivasagar

Forest officials arrested a man with illegal wildlife items at Amguri Bagan in Assam’s Sivasagar district on Friday. The accused, Imsanliba Awo of Mokokchung district in Nagaland, was apprehended during a forest operation.

Officials said two leopard skins and around 10 kg of animal bones were recovered from his possession, suspected to be linked to illegal wildlife trade. A case has been registered under the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, and further investigation is underway.
