Man Kills Friend Over Financial Dispute in Kokrajhar

In a tragic incident in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, a man allegedly killed his friend during a heated argument over money on Sunday night. The incident occurred in New Amguri village under the Balajan police station. The accused, Sokio Basumatary alias Boga, reportedly slit the throat of his friend, Derhasat Basumatary, with a sharp weapon, leading to his death on the spot. Both men were from the same village and had an ongoing financial dispute. Kokrajhar police have detained Sokio Basumatary in connection with the murder.
