Manipur JAC Suspends Statewide Shutdown After CM Meets Victims’ Families

Imphal: The Joint Action Committee (JAC) has suspended its proposed statewide shutdown following Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh’s visit to Nongshum and Uyumpok on Monday. The shutdown was called in protest over the killing of three civilians in an ambush near the Sunurok hills.

During the visit, the victims’ families and JAC representatives submitted a memorandum seeking justice and a speedy investigation. The Chief Minister condemned the killings and assured action against those responsible. While withdrawing the shutdown, the JAC maintained that its campaign for justice would continue.
