Mass Rally Held Demanding Release of Six Abducted Naga Civilians

The Koubru Range Liangmai Women’s Union and several civil society groups on Tuesday organised a mass rally in Manipur demanding the immediate release of six Naga civilians allegedly abducted by Kuki armed militants from Leilon Vaiphei village on May 13.

The rally was held from Makhan village to Namdilong village gate, with protesters urging both the Centre and the state government to take urgent action for the safe rescue of the hostages.

Protesters warned that further delay could worsen tensions in the region. Earlier on May 15, 28 hostages were released through efforts by the United Naga Council, civil society groups and law enforcement agencies.
