Meghalaya Chief Secretary’s Vehicle Stopped at Jorabat Amid Border Tensions

Amid heightened tensions along the Assam-Meghalaya border, the vehicle of Meghalaya Chief Secretary Shakil P. Ahmed was reportedly stopped at Jorabat on Saturday and remained stranded for some time.

The incident comes amid road blockades at Jorabat and Khanapara following alleged attacks on people from Assam during a students’ rally in Shillong. Petroleum workers have also suspended the loading and unloading of fuel supplies to Meghalaya until normalcy is restored.
