Mob Assaults On-Duty Doctor at Hailakandi Hospital

A mob of 10-15 people allegedly assaulted Dr. Amit Sinha at SK Roy Civil Hospital, Hailakandi, after a security guard helped him provide emergency care. The incident occurred while Dr. Sinha was treating a patient with head injuries and respiratory issues, sparking the crowd’s agitation. The hospital’s Superintendent, Dr. Debabrata Dutta, confirmed the attack, which was captured on CCTV.

One accused, Saha Alom Mazarbhuiya, has been identified, and an FIR was filed. The Assam Medical Service Association condemned the attack, warning of protests if swift action is not taken.
