Mob Attacks Police Amid Tensions Over Cattle Theft in Assam

On Wednesday night, a mob attacked police officers between Katahguri and Kohiguri villages under the Raha police station in Assam, damaging a Bolero vehicle. The violence erupted after a man named Bidyut Das from West Pasalabari village was severely beaten by a group who suspected him of cattle theft.

Officer-in-Charge Moniram Kalita and his team arrived to rescue Das, but the mob turned violent, pelting stones at the police vehicle (registration no. AS-30-9252). Fortunately, no police personnel were injured. Authorities are investigating the incident further.
