Mob Violence Erupts in Assam: Family Targeted on Suspicion of Cattle Theft

In a horrific incident in Assam’s Biswanath district, a mob allegedly attempted to kill a family over suspicions of cattle theft. The attack occurred at Sakomatha Tea Estate, where the mob vandalized property, assaulted the family, and even targeted police vehicles. Despite efforts by the family to defend themselves and police intervention, the violence persisted. Several police personnel were injured before additional forces managed to rescue the family. The injured family members are receiving treatment at Biswanath Chariali Civil Hospital, while investigations into the matter are underway.
