Modi-Putin Review India-Russia Ties, Agree to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit and reviewed cooperation in key areas including trade, defence, energy, space and people-to-people ties. The meeting came just days after their previous talks in Bishkek on August 31.

The leaders also discussed global and regional developments, including the West Asia and Black Sea conflicts, with Modi stressing the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for resolving disputes. Putin invited Modi to Russia for the 24th India-Russia Annual Summit, which the Prime Minister accepted.
