Moran Blockade Triggers Fuel Crisis in Upper Assam

The Moran community’s economic blockade, demanding ST status and Sixth Schedule inclusion, entered its fourth day, crippling Upper Assam. Thousands of vehicles, including over 1,000 fuel tankers, remain stranded, leaving 90% of Tinsukia fuel depots dry. Oil, coal, tea, and timber supplies are blocked, forcing plants to halt operations. AMSU warned the agitation will continue until demands are met, while residents and businesses face severe shortages.
