Moran Citizens Protest Move to Acquire College Land
Residents of Moran and members of Moran Mahila Mahavidyalaya have strongly opposed the Charaideo administration’s attempt to acquire college land for building the Mahmora Co-DC office. The 10 bighas of land were allotted to the college in 2005, with 2 bighas earlier used for Amrit Sarovar. A public meeting condemned the move and resolved not to give up more land. A College Land Conservation Committee was formed, and memorandums have been submitted to the District Commissioner and Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Citizens now await a response to protect the land for future academic use.
