MP Rakibul Hussain Slams Dhubri Eviction Drive as Inhumane

Congress MP Rakibul Hussain visited evicted villages in Chapar, Dhubri, and condemned the July 8 eviction drive as “inhumane and unlawful.” He alleged that residents with valid land documents were uprooted without proper notice, violating Gauhati High Court orders. Over 2,000 families lost homes as 3,500 bighas were cleared for a proposed Adani thermal power project. Hussain accused the government of bypassing legal norms and promised justice for the displaced if Congress returns to power.
