MV Trishul Completes Landmark Voyage Under Jalvahak Scheme

India’s logistics sector saw a breakthrough as MV Trishul, under the PM’s Jalvahak scheme, completed its first voyage, transporting 1,500 tons of cement from Kolkata to Pandu via the Indo-Bangladesh Protocol Route. This initiative promotes inland waterway freight on National Waterways 1, 2, and 16, offering eco-friendly and cost-effective logistics solutions. Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal hailed the journey as a step toward modernizing India’s logistics infrastructure and reducing congestion on roads and rails.
