Nationwide Protests Against “Anti-Farmer, Anti-Labour” Policies Led by CITU
The Centre of India Trade Unions (CITU) organised nationwide protests against the BJP-led government, accusing it of neglecting workers and farmers.
In Guwahati, demonstrators, including AITUC, highlighted poor conditions for Assam’s 23 lakh agricultural labourers, 12 lakh tea garden workers, and 2 lakh Anganwadi workers. Protesters criticised stagnant wages, privatization, and alleged resource exploitation by big corporations.
Protesters demanded policy changes, improved wages, and better healthcare and education, warning of political consequences in 2026 if issues remain unaddressed.
