NFR Launches Major Railway Projects to Boost Connectivity in Assam’s BTAD

The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced major projects to enhance connectivity and development in Assam’s Bodoland Territorial Area Districts. Key initiatives include a Wagon Overhauling Workshop at Basbari, Kokrajhar, costing ₹256.35 crore, and the ₹4,033 crore Kokrajhar–Gelephu Indo-Bhutan rail link. NFR is also modernising BTAD stations like Kokrajhar, Gossaigaon Hat, and Udalguri under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. These projects aim to boost trade, create jobs, and strengthen regional integration with India’s rail network.
