NFR Records Strong Growth in Cement Freight Operations

The Northeast Frontier Railway reported significant growth in cement transportation during 2025–26, with inward movement rising 7.8% to 9.76 million tonnes and loading surging by 152.7%.

Key milestones included the first cement rake unloading at Sairang and Molvom stations, boosting regional connectivity. The railway also introduced its first electric locomotive goods train at Tetelia, highlighting improved freight efficiency and infrastructure support in the Northeast.
