NDA Committed to Women’s Quota Despite Bill Setback: Saikia

Dilip Saikia said the NDA remains committed to implementing 33% reservation for women, a day after Narendra Modi addressed the nation on the Bill’s defeat.
He stated the government would ensure women’s reservation by the 2029 Lok Sabha elections, even if delimitation is delayed. Saikia criticised Congress and INDIA bloc parties for opposing the Bill and “celebrating” its defeat, accusing them of being anti-women.
He highlighted increased women’s representation under the Modi government and reiterated that the Bill is key to women’s political empowerment.
