NIA Arrests Nine Suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed Members in Assam

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested nine suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants in Assam’s Goalpara district during coordinated raids with local police. These arrests are linked to a nationwide operation involving 22 locations across five states. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the severity of threats posed by such radical elements. The suspects had been residing in Assam for three months and were allegedly inciting encroachers. Jaish-e-Mohammed is known for its involvement in the 2019 Pulwama attack.
