NIA Raids in Nagaon Uncover Al-Qaida Links
Days after arresting a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) member in Goalpara, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids in Nagaon, Assam, on Monday, targeting Al-Qaida’s activities. According to an NIA official, the raids, part of a nationwide crackdown, resulted in the seizure of incriminating documents, digital devices, and evidence related to terror funding.
The operation, covering Assam, Tripura, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, and Bihar, is linked to a 2023 case involving Bangladesh-based Al-Qaida operatives conspiring to destabilize India. The NIA continues its investigation into individuals involved in radicalizing youth and financing terrorist activities.
