Nirmala Sitharaman to Lay Foundation of Kanaklata Baruah State University on Nov 8

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit Gohpur on November 8 to lay the foundation stone of Veerangana Kanaklata Baruah State University. State Finance Minister Ajanta Neog said the ₹350 crore project, spread over 738 bighas at Bholaguri Tea Estate, will be completed in three years. The university will feature modern courses, including AI and robotics, and collaborate with foreign institutions. Neog said it will promote girls’ education and boost North Assam’s socio-economic development.
