Guwahati residents spent an incredible Rs 8.5 crore on alcohol on New Year’s Eve, greatly boosting the Excise Department’s earnings.

According to statistics, the total amount of alcohol consumed by city dwellers on December 31, 2023, was Rs 8.5 crore.
