Only 2% of Assam Police Found Obese in Annual BMI Test

Assam Police reported that just 2.06% of its 73,317 personnel were classified as obese in this year’s BMI test, marking a steady improvement since the drive began in 2023. The statewide testing, overseen by DGP Harmeet Singh, aims to promote health awareness and improve fitness in the force. Singh said BMI checks help personnel stay conscious of their well-being, which benefits both their job performance and their families.
