OTPCL, APDCL to Set Up 250 MW Battery Energy Storage in Assam

ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd and Assam Power Development Corporation Ltd will jointly develop a 250 MW battery energy storage system in Assam. The project will store solar energy for use during peak demand and night hours. As the first of its kind in the Northeast, it aims to enhance solar power efficiency and grid stability. The initiative aligns with the state’s broader strategy of balancing renewable and thermal energy sources to meet rising power needs.
