Locals Oppose Grazing Land Transfer Near Dorabeel Wetland

Residents of Palashbari in Kamrup have vowed to resist the State’s move to transfer 150 bighas of grazing land near Dorabeel wetland to a private firm for a logistics park. The Dorabeel Grazing Field Protection Committee warns this will harm biodiversity, including endangered Gangetic dolphins, and affect over 3,000 families relying on the land for farming, fishing, and pottery. Over 60 objections have been filed, citing ecological damage, livelihood loss, and cultural erosion.
