Over 12,000 Displaced People cross over from Manipur to Mizoram

Having accommodated more than 12,000 people from violence-hit Manipur so far, neighbouring Mizoram is beginning to feel the strain, with top officials reiterating the need for funds from the Centre.

Mizoram is waiting for a relief package sought from the Centre, a senior home department official said on Monday. The Mizo National Front (MNF) government, headed by Chief Minister Zoramthanga, had in May sought ₹ 10 crore as a relief package for those displaced people.
