Owaisi’s Assam Campaign Sparks Political Clash Among BJP, Congress, AIUDF

The visit of Asaduddin Owaisi to Assam, campaigning for All India United Democratic Front, has intensified political tensions ahead of elections.
At a rally in Chenga, Owaisi claimed that if AIUDF candidates win, the next Chief Minister would be from their party, not Himanta Biswa Sarma or Congress. He also raised issues like justice for Zubeen Garg and highlighted the long-standing presence of minority communities.
Sarma strongly criticised Owaisi, accusing Congress of encouraging divisive politics and destabilising the state’s social environment.
Meanwhile, Assam Congress chief Gaurav Gogoi alleged a hidden alliance between BJP and AIMIM, calling Owaisi a proxy of Amit Shah.
The exchanges have further escalated the political contest in Assam, particularly in Lower Assam regions.
