PM Modi Congratulates Himanta Biswa Sarma on Second Term as Assam CM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday congratulated Himanta Biswa Sarma after he took oath as Assam Chief Minister for a second consecutive term. Modi praised Sarma as a “wonderful administrator” and wished him success for the new tenure.

The BJP-led NDA returned to power in Assam for a third straight term after a sweeping victory in the Assembly elections. Along with Sarma, Rameswar Teli, Atul Bora, Charan Boro and Ajanta Neog also took oath as ministers.

The swearing-in ceremony in Guwahati was attended by several senior BJP and NDA leaders, including Rajnath Singh and Nirmala Sitharaman, along with chief ministers and deputy chief ministers from NDA-ruled states.
