Four Arrested in IPL Betting Crackdown in Assam’s Cachar District

Police intensified its crackdown on illegal IPL betting networks in Assam, arresting four persons during raids in Cachar district. Acting on intelligence inputs, Cachar Police conducted operations in Silchar and seized cash, mobile phones and betting records linked to online gambling activities.

Three alleged bookies were arrested from Das Colony, while another accused was held from Ashram Road. Police said the betting transactions linked to the racket may have crossed Rs 50 lakh during the IPL season.

Officials stated that the operation is part of a wider statewide drive against illegal online betting syndicates using mobile applications during IPL matches.
