PM Modi Inaugurates Advanced Microbiology Lab and Food Safety Vehicles to Boost Food Testing in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a new microbiology laboratory and 17 Food Safety on Wheels (FSW) vehicles in Assam, collectively valued at Rs 13.11 crores. The laboratory, set up by the Food Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) in Guwahati, aims to enhance food testing infrastructure. PM Modi inaugurated these facilities virtually from Rajkot in Gujarat. The microbiology lab will play a vital role in ensuring food safety by identifying various microorganisms, including pathogens. The FSWs, equipped with advanced facilities and skilled personnel, will not only improve testing capabilities but also provide essential training to strengthen food safety measures across the state.
