PM Modi Lays Foundation for Four CBG Plants in Assam

Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated four Compressed Bio Gas (CBG) plants in Assam by Oil India Ltd. (OIL) during Swachh Bharat Diwas. Located in Guwahati, Jorhat, Sivasagar, and Tinsukia, the plants will convert 500 tonnes of waste into 8 tonnes of CBG daily. Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma emphasized the plants’ environmental and economic benefits, including job creation. This initiative is part of OIL’s plan to set up 25 CBG plants across India by 2025.
