PMO Confirms Vande Bharat Express and Rail Upgrade for Dibrugarh

The Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed the introduction of a new Vande Bharat Express from Dibrugarh along with major railway infrastructure upgrades. The plan includes a Vande Bharat terminus, modernisation of the railway workshop, redevelopment of Dibrugarh Town station, and new residential quarters for railway staff.

Railway sources said a Dibrugarh–Guwahati Vande Bharat service is under planning, expected to improve connectivity and boost economic activity in Upper Assam.
