Police Apprehend Six Bir Lachit Sena Members in Guwahati Following Kamakhya Temple Clash

In Guwahati, six members of the Bir Lachit Sena organization have been taken into custody by the police for their alleged involvement in clashes with the Kamakhya Temple authorities. The arrested individuals are identified as Bikash Axom, Tapan Sharma, Matiur Rahman, Rabi Dihingia, Manoj Deka, and Bikrant Kalita.

Reports from local media indicate that the confrontations occurred on Friday, January 26, when a dispute arose between Bir Lachit Sena members and Kamakhya Temple parking staff, centering around vehicle parking issues.

In response to the incident, the temple management swiftly filed a First Information Report (FIR) against the organization members involved. The FIR has been registered at the Jalukbari police station in Guwahati.
