Police Arrest Three in Connection with Dacoity on Silchar-Kalain Road

In a significant development, Cachar Police arrested three individuals accused of involvement in a dacoity on the Silchar-Kalain road. The incident occurred around 3:30 am when six persons returning to Silchar from Shillong were threatened and looted by a gang of six dacoits armed with sharp weapons. The victims lost mobile phones, gold ornaments, and cash worth Rs 10,000. They subsequently reported the incident to the Bhangarpar Police outpost. Following an investigation, police intercepted a vehicle and apprehended three suspects who were identified by the victims and confessed to the crime. Efforts are ongoing to recover the stolen items.
