Police Crackdown on Illegal IPL Betting; Eight Arrested in Barpeta District

Barpeta district police conducted a major operation targeting illegal IPL betting activities, resulting in the arrest of eight individuals across Barpeta, Howly, and Barpeta Road areas. In Barpeta, Aminul Islam was apprehended for selling IPL tickets through a mobile app. In Howly, Jahidul Islam was caught selling IPL gambling digits, with three others found possessing gambling records and equipment. Meanwhile, in Barpeta Road, Nurjamal Ali, Mokibul Hussain, and Intaz Ali Pathan were arrested for selling IPL digits and keeping records. Significant amounts of cash and evidence were seized, underlining the scale of the illicit operations disrupted by the police.
