Police Focus on Suspect in BJP Worker’s Death During Samaguri Clashes

Nagaon Police have identified a suspect in the death of BJP worker Bipul Saikia during clashes between BJP and Congress supporters in Samaguri. Though identified, the suspect has not yet been detained. A case has been registered following an FIR by Saikia’s family.

The incident has sparked political tension, with Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma blaming Congress for the violence. Congress, in turn, refuted the allegations and stated that an FIR was filed against a journalist, not a BJP worker. The clashes have raised concerns about law and order in the area ahead of the by-polls.
