Police Foil Kidnapping Attempt in Jalukbari, Rescue Two Victims

A gang of kidnappers attempted to abduct a girl from Rangjuli and her friend from Bangalore while they were waiting for transportation at Jalukbari on Tuesday. During their escape, the kidnappers injured the officer in charge of Baihata Police Station at a barricade.

Four individuals were involved in the incident, using a vehicle with registration number AS 01 QC 9447. The kidnappers allowed the girl to contact her parents and demanded a ransom, prompting the family to approach the police. The police swiftly responded, managing to arrest three of the kidnappers and rescue the victims.

The fourth kidnapper, identified as Manowar Ali and the mastermind behind the abduction, escaped by jumping into the Brahmaputra. Police are actively searching for him. The incident has caused a significant stir in the region, with locals demanding strict punishment for the kidnappers.
