Police Officials Injured in Attack near Indo-Bangla Border

Two police officials, including a lady constable, were critically injured in an alleged attack by members of a family near the Indo-Bangla international border in the Gumrah area of Katigorah constituency, Cachar district. The incident occurred during a police operation targeting a suspected cattle smuggler. Despite secret inputs, the operation turned violent when family members of the suspect launched an attack with sharp weapons, injuring a sub-inspector and the lady constable. Both were rushed to Silchar Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Four individuals, including the suspected smuggler, have been detained, and a case has been registered under relevant sections of the IPC.
