Police Seize Bootlegging Operation Amid Accusations of Complicity

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Jamuguri police led by Officer-in-Charge Dinesh Chandra Deka raided an illicit liquor manufacturing site in Amdara area, Jamugurihat. They destroyed two thousand liters of country liquor, 250 kgs of decomposed unrefined sugar, and seized tablets used in liquor production. However, the owner of the house managed to escape. This raid comes amidst allegations of police complicity with cattle head smugglers, raising concerns about rising antisocial activities in the area.
